Free Internet Broadcasts This Season

WBZ News Radio and the Cape League have announced a partnership to professionally produce eight video webcasts of games for the 2007 season streamed free through WBZ1030.com and CapeCodBaseball.org. Legendary Bruins voice Fred Cusick will provide play-by-play and John Garner, Jr. (director of PR & broadcasting for the CCBL) will provide color commentary. The videos will also air with “tape delay” on local cable TV stations via C3TV. In addition, the Wareham Gatemen announced that they will broadcast video webcasts for all of their 2007 home games, including pre-season and playoff games.
Cape.com will continue for their sixth straight season to produce audio broadcasts of each game, available streaming on the Internet or via phone. The Cape and Islands NPR stations, WCAI 90.1fm, WNAN 91.1fm and WZAI 94.3fm, will also broadcast the 45th CCBL All-Star Game.
The Falmouth Commodores have been actively exploring providing video webcasts on their site. Last year, the Chatham A’s provided a pay service for video webcasts on their website.

I think we’ll all find out that all CCBL teams are going to have video streaming this season. Some, like Wareham and Chatham, will broadcast every home game and other may offer certain games. The league and Cape.com struck a deal and the each team has purchased equipment.
Chatham roster has been posted by the way….
Thanks CapeMan,
I hope you are right about the video streaming.
Chatham’s roster has actually been up for several weeks (we posted about it March 24th). They surprised us this year!
We’re just waiting on Orleans (have they touched their website?) and Harwich (roster due May 16th).
I missed the Chatham roster…thanks.
You can count on the video streaming. Cape.com is going to be hosting the audio and video streaming and the CCBL purchased equipment for each team. It is up to each team insofar as how aggressive and/or prepared they are to actually get broadcasts up and running. I’m sure that the franchises that are normally on top of things like Chatham, Wareham, Cotuit, etc will be up and running sooner than most. I think someone said tha Wareham already has a note on their website. It looks like one major difference between the video streaming this year and what Chatham did last year is that it will be free. The teams and/or league must be picking up that tab.
