Bourne Braves 2008 Roster

braves-logo.jpgThe Bourne Braves have posted their preliminary roster for the 2008 season (although their website still shows it as “2007″).

Andrew G. speculated on a couple of potential new Braves in an earlier post (“Do We Know These Players ?”) back on October 19. He was pretty much on target. Wade Broyles from Mississippi is a player who Andrew thought may come to Bourne but he is not on their roster. Three other Ole Miss players are on the roster however.

Kyle Roller from East Carolina is on the roster. Another player who Andrew thought might end up in Bourne was Richard Jones from The Citadel and Jones is on the Braves roster.

Not surprisingly, there is a definite southern and midwest flavor to the Bourne roster.

    Off the subject, but Dave tipped me off to Russ Charpentier’s excellent report in the Cape Cod Times announcing that John Wylde will be inducted this Saturday into the CCBL Hall of Fame.

    John has been a permanent fixture in CodBall’s reporting over the past year-plus.

    This is an absolutely fitting honor for one of the league’s titans.

    I just saw on the Gatemen website that he will also be named the Executive of the Year.

    Great piece in the Cape Cod Times… it will be an emotional event.
