Gatemen Release Preliminary 2008 Schedule

By this time last year, the CCBL had released their schedule for the 2007 season. While we await the release of the 2008 league schedule, the Wareham Gatemen have released their preliminary schedule for the coming season.

A few highlights:

As reported earlier, Opening Night is on Friday, June 13 when Wareham plays host to the Falmouth Commodores at 7:00pm on “John Wylde Day.”

The Gatemen make the short trek across the bridge to play the Bourne Braves in their annual 2:00 start on the Fourth of July.

Wareham will also “host” the Braves on Friday, July 11 at 7:00 at Walsh Field in New Bedford.

The defending champion Y-D Red Sox two visits to Spillane Field are scheduled for Friday, June 20 and Sunday, July 13.

    Another scheduling highlight and something to keep an eye on is the 6:00pm start for the All-Star Game in Chatham. Last year’s game in Wareham was a 6:00pm and I think is the perfect time. However, as we all know, fog is very common in Chatham during the evening and I’m sure the league would not want a “fog game” on this day.
