Aaron Crow (Missouri) of FalmouthWhile the northeast is recovering from a winter storm this weekend, the college baseball summer season is in full bloom. Missouri  (#6) opened up its season in Florida with a 7-1 win over UConn. Aaron Crow (Falmouth ‘07, CCBL Top Pro Prospect ‘07) was true to form as he fanned seven in five innings, and allowed just one run to earn the win (game story).

Crow was recently mentioned in a Baseball America article which is currently being featured on ESPN.com. The article tells the story how he exceeded all expectations when he registered 98mph on the radar gun this past summer on the Cape.

Great games this weekend in college baseball. Mike Minor, Team-USA and Vanderbilt, who is on the Wareham roster, shut down defending champ Oregon State on Friday.

Arizona State was crushing Vanderbilt last time I checked.

Kendal Volz, also from Wareham, struck out 10 for Baylor this weekend. Shooter Hunt, Tulane and Falmouth also pitched well, striking out 8 and not allowing a run.

It’s very cool once again to log onto CSTV and follow major college baseball. Even my son’s travel team gets underway tomorrow.

Andrew, are you going to take in some North Carolina games now that you’re a southerner?

UNC is playing at the USA Baseball Training complex in Cary, North Carolina this season because their field is under construction.

    Andrew…where in NC are you?

Morning CapeMan, I’m aware of that and plan to take in some games there. I actually work in Cary and live in Apex.

Eddis Burns - Georgia Tech and YD and Christian Frederich - E. Kentucky and Falmouth also had wins over the weekend. I’m sure there were other good performances…

For those wondering about the Pedro Alvarez injury, (he was a late scratch in Arizona before Vandy’s first game), he broke his hand and is out at least 6 weeks. Quite a blow to him personally and a HUGE loss for the Commodores. I just read this on Vandy’s website.
