New Scoreboard at Lowell Park

Cotuit Kettleers Scoreboard

The new scoreboard was unveiled recently in Cotuit (thanks to CapeHomepage.com for the picture above). It’s not too much different from the old one, but looks a bit larger and should be more visible. One of the unique additions is the pitch speed in the top-right.

Personally, I prefer the larger scoreboards in Brewster, Chatham, Harwich and Bourne that show the line score.

I like the Harwich and Bourne scoreboards too. Falmouth and Wareham fields double as football fields so the big baseball scoreboard may not work there. I think the new Cotuit scoreboard “fits” that park nicely…you don’t want something too flashy at that great park.

Chatham’s (dontated by Summer Catch) seems appropriate but Orleans could use an upgrade similar to what Cotuit did. Hyannis would benefit greatly from a nice big scoreboard.

May I just say the Lowell scoreboard is gorgeous. Very clear and easy to read.

I agree that Eldredge Park could use an upgrade but the Firebirds won’t be getting another scoreboard any time soon. A new scoreboard was installed at Eldredge Park before the 2007 season. For the money that was spent, it doesn’t look like that much of an improvement over the old one.
