		<description>It is always terrible when cuts affect education...and sports at the high school level is definately part of the educational experience.  I think it will survice because communities tend to rally around such causes and I&#039;m sure we&#039;ll hear of many stories where towns get behind a sport or a program or a team.

What concerns me is field maintenance. Often, this comes under a parts and recreational budget or part of the general school budget and like the athletic budget for schools; these funds are also an obvious target for cuts.  Kids will find a way to buy a glove or come up with &quot;fee money&quot; to play the sport but the condition of the facilites can deteriorate quickly and as we all know from following the Cape League, renovations are very expensive.</description>
