It doesn't seem that long ago that I took this picture of Gordon Beckham at Red Wilson Field.

Does it seem like Cape League All-Stars are getting called up to the majors faster than usual?

On Thursday, Gordon Beckham (Y-D ‘07) started his first major league game for the Chicago White Sox at third base (shortstop Alexei Ramirez has a stronghold on shortstop). He joins 2nd baseman Chris Getz (Chatham ‘03-’04) in the infield.

In his first game on June 4th, Beckham went 0 for 3, with a strikeout and reached base on a fielder’s choice. Tonight, he’s also 0 for 3, in what appears will be a loss to the Indians.
