My son and I have made it to the CCBL All-Star Recognition Night at Fenway the past several years, but we won't make it this year. Instead, we've decided to make a pilgrimage to Yankee Stadium for the first time before they tear it down. It is a special night for the players and great recognition for the league in front of a sell-out Red Sox crowd.
My one piece of advice for fans is to get there early and head immediately for the lower wall along the left field line. We always find a lot of Cape Cod All-Star players hanging out there, many of them saying hello to rookie friends on whatever squad is playing the Red Sox that night (it's the Orioles tonight).
A photographer is usually nearby so you can arrange to be photographed with your friends and with players both from the Cape and from the visiting team as they mingle with fans during the warm-up period.
Have fun and congrats to all the players.
