For an early peek at the 2012 Cotuit Kettleers, go to: http://kettleers.org/roster.htm. Following in the footsteps of Mike Yastrzemski (Andover) and Kevin Ziomek (Amherst), just to name two, it is no surprise that Auburn's Tyler Beede (6'4", 200 lb., RHP) will suit up for Cotuit next summer. Beede was drafted in the first round by Toronto in this past June's MLB Draft. There certainly is a strong connection between Massachusetts natives who attend Vanderbilt and the Kettleers.
A couple other Bay State players to keep an eye on are Adam Ravenelle (6'4", 185 lb., RHP) and Barrett O'Neill (6'1", 205 lb., RHP). Ravenelle is a freshman from Sudbury and Lincoln-Sudbury HS who also attends Vanderbilt. O'Neill, from Ashland via the Dexter School, is a freshman at Virginia. Both will likely be on a Cape League roster in the near future. O'Neill is the nephew of Paul O'Neill who played for Cotuit in 1974 and 1975, winning the batting title in his second season with the Kettleers. Paul will be inducted into the CCBL Hall of Fame on November 19. He remains close to many people in the Kettleers organization.
